A park managed by Madagascar Fauna Group, a conglomerate of zoo all around the world ,the place is a paradise for a peaceful week- end inside nature`s beauty. Formerly a garden during the colonization it becameĀ a refuge for birds as the trees grew into a wonderful forest. The zoo in itself is composed of lemurs and turtles but the animals are less interesting as the landscapes, the view and the atmosphere are ideal for refreshing your mind from the city`s turmoil. Unfortunately, the food was not very good and the infrastructures are not made for tourists because the place is entirely dedicated to science and tourism is not the most important for them. Local peoples are authorized to take fallen trees .Anyway, it is a shame not to visit the park when you are nearby and the fees are very low for nationals.

I’ve never been there lol but some day I’ll go there for sure. BTW, you’ve got some great photos

thanks,I took them just by myself without any help (hihi) . Ivoloina deserves a lot more publicity and interest from us malagasy people.

I discovered that Patrick covered the same subject as mine on Ivoloina with delight and would be glad to do so but it depends on where my wanderings take me.

First of all, welcome to the blogging world. It’s good to read about Ivoloina for its nature rather than for its floating gate

The floating gate is long forgotten and a beautiful bridge stands high proudly over the river now, not easily swept by the floods like the old one.
