Appel pour les handicapés

Depuis sa création en mars 2000, le Collectif des Organisations des Personnes Handicapées a entrepris maintes actions pour l`intégration et la participation des handicapés au sein de la société malgache. Pour démarrer cette année, le COPH lance un appel à projet en vue d`améliorer la perception des gens sur le handicap même avec des manifestations socio-culturelles ou sportives. Le thème qu`ils reprennent pour cette année est tiré de la définition de l`ONU, ” Ne cherche pas le handicap sur la personne, il est dans son environnement.” Cette définition illustre les manques dans les infrastructures en place à Madagascar mais aussi dans la mentalité des personnes, pour une meilleure compréhension, le COPH incite les autres associations qui ne sont pas concernées par le handicap à s`impliquer avec des projets bien à eux et apporter leurs compétences dans cet aventure. Le dépôt des dossiers se fera au COPH situé à Ambihijatovo à coté de l`escalier, le 12 Février pour une présélection, ensuite, ils auront droit à une formation sur le handicap pendant 3 jours le 23-24-25 Février et une autre formation sur la réalisation d’un projet le 2 et 3 Mars suivant. Les conditions de participations sont d’avoir une existence légale d’au moins un an et que l’association ne soit génératrice d’aucun revenu. L’année dernière, le COPH a organisé un concert avec Rajery pour les enfants, leur collaboration continuera cette année encore.

What to do when you’re not that eager for nightclubs or going out? Everyone has his own way to pass his time but movie business has arisen since pirate’s DVDs flood the market and offers a variety of choice which was not there before, Hollywood  and Bollywood visit our homes without any channel’s intermediary and we can pick the movie we want to see. Technology has its toll into worming his way into becoming a necessity in our everyday life, I wouldn’t complain myself since I’d find my life so dull without it. Video clubs, such as ” Clic Video”, situated in the center of the town , have grown like mushrooms in the city, they rent movie from abroad, and it is “officially” forbidden by the OMDA, the Malagasy Office for Author`s Rights, to sell them even if everyone does it in every corner of Analakely’s streets. Movies are the ones which make the most money due to their higher prices by Clic Video and other shops, but Japanese mangas are kings in the heart of the young customers most of them boys and young adults: Naruto Shippuden, Bleach, One Piece …  Japanmania reigns over American productions, as a fan myself, I would like to say that if you don`t like battles there are more peaceful mangas. The business started three years ago for this club , they begun with Hoby`s dismissal from his ancient job in which he gathered at least hundreds of DVDs. They moved into a wider place last year thanks to its success but still have some problems regarding authority.   Anyway, OMDA`s battle against pirates is not likely to end and I don`t blame them if they get a little dazed with the thriving technology which allowed so many possibilities and easy money for some people. Such a hard choice, I like the movies in Analakely but they are illegals, so many injustice in this world! Note that cinema places are not that cheap compared to all the movies I could watch just with Ar. 2000.

Les jeunes encadreurs du club, Rivo et Patricia

Le Club Pour l`ONU de la Faculté des Lettres et Sciences Humaines de l`Université d`Antananarivo est né le 19 Octobre dernier sous le parrainage du Centre d`Information des Nations Unies. Le club est né sous l`impulsion de deux anciens CPO du Lycée Jules Ferry Faravohitra, le premier du genre, Rivo et Patricia en ont sûrement gardés de bons souvenirs car ils ont réussi à pérenniser leur activité dans un cadre universitaire. Les premiers pas du club ont été marqués par une séance d`information sur les Nations Unies et ses organes, en tout cas, les étudiants s`y sont intéressés, on espère simplement qu`ils seront aussi enthousiaste pour la réalisation des objectifs que le club s`est imposé: ” L`avenir de l`environnement nous préoccupe.” Un enjeu des plus ambitieux face à tous les obstacles rencontrés en ce moment mais ils y travaillent, lentement mais sûrement. Lova, un des membres les plus enthousiastes, me confie qu`il trouve la finalité assez intéressante mais il voit aussi une opportunité de carrière et beaucoup d`ouverture au sein du club. Le sérieux du club est indiscutable pour lui dans la mesure où les Nations Unies le parrainent, il a trouvé une vraie expression de soi lors de la conception du Plan de Travail Annuel qui a permis à tout le monde de faire entendre ses idées. Les plus grands problèmes rencontrés jusqu`ici  sont en rapport avec les moyens de communications entre les membres qui viennent des différentes filières au sein de la FLSH et ne se connaissent pas encore. Les membres participants aux réunions sont ainsi présents sur la force du hasard dans la mesure où ils ont pu être contactés ou non, même si le CPO FLSH à son profil sur Facebook et y communique ses activités, les membres ne sont pas membres du réseau social et les moyens financiers sont limités au vu de la naissance trop récente  du club vu qu`il n`y a pas de cotisation. Le club adopte profil bas en ce dernier trimestre et se prépare à tous les objectifs de l`année prochaine.

Childhood Memories

This is some recollections of  a friend of mine

“Friends are one of the things we need most in our life and I’ve had a lot of them through my school years and now at the university.  As a little girl, though, I was a lonely girl, persecuted by the other girls of my class because I was different. They all lived in the same neighborhood, shared the same games and knew each other well, and so they used to accuse me of stealing their pens and erasers when we all knew they have fallen under the ground. Anyway, I was all alone against them, no one to defend or protect me and the teacher wouldn’t listen to my pleas. It could have been the same path for all my years at this school since my parents didn’t know the way they acted upon me and wouldn’t have thought of taking me to another school, but the boys were nice with me and then came other girls who became friends with me. It was so wonderful to have new friends, playing the games I used to watch just from afar, feeling like belonging at last. However good this was, it didn’t last long because with time, every girl found their “best friend”, everyone but me. On my last year there, a girl from another region came into our class and she’d been thrown under my wings by the teacher who considered me as an intelligent girl and wanted me to help her, her name was Marie. Even if she was older than I, she became a little like my pupil, I petted her and guided her, she was “my” best friend, just mine. Unfortunately, she didn’t make the exam, I wasn’t much of a good guide, and I never saw her ever again, just once, she was going to accompany her cousin to school but she didn’t go there herself because Marie’s parents couldn’t afford to. It was a failure for me at this young age of eleven, I was responsible of her in class. I  would never forget those early years.”

Our streets full of beggars

Tana has got a lot of them, not just a handful but much more.

They are dirty,  poor, drunk, mad… they are human. They walk by freely, indifferently anywhere, but where to go? They are like you and me but they didn’t receive any education nor cheering from anyone  but their likes, even then, they are what I would say living in the jungle, street’s jungle. This is no American ghetto but here is poverty at its lowest side. Where is the future of these ragged children, without education, what would they do of their life if they are not given the chance to start it as any other schoolmarm?

This will go on in a ring of poverty since none of them can manage to have a better life and as long as they drown their senses into drunkenness, no good will come out of their offspring. The example is given by parents and the environment shapes your personality as much as education is the root of the knowledge you’ll bring with for a lifetime. NGO’s are not enough and can’t help them all in their programs ,yet,sometimes, it is these very people who don’t want to go away from the city and prefer to live in this fashion instead of perhaps a better life in the countryside.

La pluie et le beau temps

Copenhague bat son plein mais quels en seront les bénéfices pour Madagascar? Le sommet peut bien être historique dans son genre, ses retombées ne vont pas se faire sentir chez nous en un court laps de temps comme on le voudrait bien. En attendant les résultats des pourparlers, le comportement des malgaches ne changent pas et les feux de brousse continuent tout au long des routes nationales. Après des mois de soleil accompagné de brouillard de pollution épaisse, voici que vient la pluie , salvatrice mais sans merci. Balayant l’air empoisonné  dans laquelle  Tana a baigné pendant des mois comme des résidus des bombes lacrymogènes du début d’année, elle inonde les rues et menace les constructions en mauvais état. La saison des pluies commence mal et les cyclones sont attendus avec très peu de moyens, conséquences de la crise, en tout cas, les malgaches sont démunis face aux malheurs qui les attend, malheurs qui viennent de leur propre mains, et d’autres encore qui font partis de ceux que les pays industrialisés infligent au reste du monde. Quand est-ce que nous réagirons et arrêterons nos pratiques destructrices. Si je vis à la campagne, arrêterais-je le Tavy? Pourtant, quelle alternative m’attend? Le gouvernement a le devoir d’initier un plan sur le long terme afin de changer les mœurs et d’utiliser l’argent entre leur main dans des objectifs de développement réellement porteurs.

Parc Ivoloina

A park managed by Madagascar Fauna Group, a conglomerate of zoo all around the world ,the place is a paradise for a peaceful week- end inside nature`s beauty. Formerly a garden during the colonization it became  a refuge for birds as the trees grew into a wonderful forest. The zoo in itself is composed of lemurs and turtles but the animals are less interesting as the landscapes, the view and the atmosphere are ideal for refreshing your mind from the city`s turmoil. Unfortunately, the food was not very good and the infrastructures are not made for tourists because the place is entirely dedicated to science and tourism is not the most important for them. Local peoples are authorized to take fallen trees .Anyway, it is a shame not to visit the park when you are nearby and the fees are very low for nationals.
